Computers & Devices
CellPort is a web browser application, also known as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application - For optimal usability and technical support, CellPort recommends the following:

Laboratory Hood
For usage in the lab, CellPort recommends each applicable hood satisfy the following hardware requirements:

NOTE: The Laptop Tray Arm may be directly bolted into a leg of the hood. If not feasible, setting the laptop on a sturdy surface (e.g., a tray with wheels) is recommended.
Barcode Scanners
To reduce errors and expedite data transmission, CellPort recommends the following connected barcode scanners:

NOTE: All the Honeywell models listed above support 1D and 2D barcodes. The models differ in terms of overall size and whether they are wired or wireless barcode scanners.
Barcode Printers & Labels
For optimal convenience, CellPort recommends providing at least one shared barcode printing station either within or near each lab. To determine the best option and quantity of barcode printers, consider the following:
Sizes – CellPort recommends choosing a few standard sizes and dedicating one label printer to one size roll; using a label printer for multiple sizes requires constant changing and is therefore less efficient.
Storage temperatures – Many off-the-shelf label rolls do not support the extreme temperatures found in cryo tanks or other lab equipment. Zebra’s 8000T Cryocool™ labels are rated for temperatures as low as -196°C.
Color – To minimize cost, CellPort recommends black-and-white printing.
